Orkut App for Mobile is a Java based application similar to GMail for mobile, for using this app on your mobile, your mobile should support Java ME (J2ME), MIDP 2.0, in addition to an internet plan to use on your mobile.
Now lets look at the extra functionality this app provides over the existing mobile version of Orkut.
- Since its a Java based application, you can make use of the mobile camera and post a picture directly from mobile.
- Can update your status through the app and see what your friends are up to
- You can view your scrapbook, photos and friends list Offline ! Thats one of the key feature

As per Google’s Orkut Help section, this app is available for download, one need to check http://m.google.com/orkut to see whether the phone is compatible and for downloading the app. I tried the same on my Nokia 5800 XPressMusic as well as SE K750i, but couldn’t see a download link, instead only a link to the existing mobile orkut web page.
