I am running the free version of AVG Antivirus for almost three years now and so far never faced any major virus attacks on my system which needed a full cleanup with format and reistall of everything.. I am happy about it? Well have you?
I am sure many of you would have faced virus attacks, a friend of mine was not aware of a virus which was sending links to sites using his yahoo messenger untill I told him about it.. Its very common when you have an unsecured PC.
Whether your PC is connected to internet or not, you will need a good antivirus and antispyware. Your friend may connect his USB stick (pen drive) when he visits your home to share some snaps, which you cant resist, even your friend might not be aware, he is spreading viruses from his USB stcik/CD/DVD ROM.
This is where things like AVG antivirus and Google Pack can help you.
Google Pack is a collection of useful software for your system along with an antispyware and an antivirus. Currently Google pack is bundled with Google Chrome Web Browser, Google Apps, Norton Security Scan, Google Desktop, Google Photos Screensaver, Firefox with Google Toolbar, Skype, Google Earth, Google Toolbar for IE, Spyware Doctor, Picasa, Adobe Reader, Google Talk and Realplayer. In fact you can choose the ones you need to install and there is no need to download all, if you have few of them already.
Google Pack contains evaluation versions of PCTools Spyware Doctor and Norton Security Scan, which are good enough on a home PC. If you can, you may optionally upgrade to their full versions for enhanced protections.
I never had an antispyware in my system untill I downloaded Google Pack. I realised that even my system had many spyware infections :(. As I had AVG Antivirus home edition, I was clean in the virus section.
I would suggest readers to make use of these trustable free products for a safer PC and internet usage. This really doesn’t cost anything but hours of your time cleaning up your system on a virus attack.
